A free, annual recreational burn permit is required for wood-burning fire pits in Shorewood, valid through December 31 of the issuing year. Residents must apply through the Excelsior Fire District's online portal known as Community Connect. Fires must be 3 feet or less in diameter. Only clean, dry, untreated wood may be burned. Do not burn leaves, grass, yard waste, or trash. The fire must be attended at all times and fully extinguished after use.
