Stop by Shorewood’s Organics Drop-off Site at South Shore Park on Saturday November 8, to drop your post-Halloween jack-o’-lanterns to break into pieces. Before giving your pumpkin a toss, roll your pumpkin to compete in lawn bowling for your chance at a prize!
Shorewood’s Recycling Committee is teaming up with volunteers to provide this service. These decorative squashes will be composted by the City’s organics recycling contractor, Republic, and converted to dark crumbly compost. No paint, decorations, candles, or glitter please. In addition to dropping off pumpkins, you may also drop off unwanted string lights to be recycled and gently used winter coats to be donated, all in efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle.
