Public Works & Engineering
The Shorewood Public Works Department manages the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of all city streets, storm sewers, city parks and city-owned equipment. Public Works also manages city right-of-way to help coordinate utility and construction projects to minimize resident disruption. Right-of-way (PDF)
They are also responsible for maintaining safe drinking water and reliable sewage disposal. This department operates and maintains the city's seven water wells, two storage reservoirs, the water distribution system and the sanitary sewer collection system. Staff is also responsible for the water meter reading and repair program.

The Public Works Department manages the operation and maintenance of the city's approximately sixty miles of sanitary sewer collection system.
